In 2009, The Hanover acquired commercial business from OneBeacon Insurance Group, which enabled rapid Western U.S. expansion. In the same year, A.M. In 2013, The Hanover exceeded $5 billion worth of written premiums and wrote business in 179 countries. Country Financial is a group of US insurance and financial services companies available in 19 states in the U.S. Their history began in 1925, when a group of Agricultural Association members from Illinois formed a company, Country Mutual Insurance, selling fire and lightning insurance. In the following four years, new products were included in their portfolios, such as crop hail and farm insurance, auto, and life insurance. Today, Country Financial serves about one million households and businesses throughout the United States and offers a range of insurance and financial products, including auto, home, life, health, commercial, farm & ranch, and crop insurance, and retirement planning, education funding, annuities, and planning services.
