Erie Insurance Exchange was founded in 1925 by H.O. Hirt and O.G. Crawford, in the city of Erie, Pennsylvania. H.O. Today, Erie Insurance Company ranks number 381 on the 2019 FORTUNE500® list and has over 5,000 employees and 12,000 independent agents.
