In the year 1969, Integon started a holding company and began insuring high-risk drivers and by 1997, the company was acquired by GMAC. By 2013, GMAC changed its name to National General Insurance. Today, the National General Insurance Group is one of the largest automobile insurers in the United States, offering a variety of property and casualty products. The company operates and sells its insurance products through over 10,000 independent agents and brokers across the US.
