Professor Stuart Struck formed the Dairyland Mutual Insurance Company of Wisconsin in 1953 and in 1966 The Hardware Dealers Mutual Fire Insurance Company acquiredDairyland, which sold specialty insurance to drivers who couldn’t otherwise get standard coverage due to poor driving records, little driving experience or no prior insurance. In 1975independent agents joined Dairyland and began selling motorcycle insurance. Two years later, they moved to a new headquarters in Steven Point, Wisconsin. Sentry, Dairyland’s parent company, celebrated100 years of business in 2004. The following year, Sentry acquired Viking Insurance and doubled the size of Dairyland. Sentry has over $13 billion worth of assets and a policyholder surplus of $4.1 billion. In addition to motorcycle insurance, Dairyland is known for selling non-standard SR-22/SR22/SR 22 insurance and insurance for teen drivers at affordable rates.

SafeAuto is an independently owned property and casualty car insurance carrier based in Columbus, Ohio.
