In 2006, he and colleagues Martin Hartley and Jeffrey Paraschac set out to create an insurance company with a reduced conflict between shareholders and policyholders while providing exceptional coverage, service, and savings. The holding company for the PURE Group of Insurance Companies is called Privilege Underwriters. PURE stands for Privilege Underwriters Reciprocal Exchange. Pure insurance recapitalized equity investments from funds managed by Stone Point Capital, KKR and the management team in 2015. Tokio Marine Holdings Inc. bought Privilege Underwriters Inc and PURE Group for $3.1 billion in October 2019. The acquisition closed the first quarter of 2020. The company is expended to expand and diversify its international business. PURE has a 96% member retention rate and an industry-leading Net Promoter Score. The company has been growing rapidly and has a premium volume in excess of $400 million.
